Sethembile has a passion to show God’s love to children in hospital.
She knows what she is talking about. She spent a long time in hospital when she was young. The children love to talk to her and tell her all the things that worry them.
Sethembile is keen to teach the children who are in for a long time – often months and even over a year in some cases
Sethembile has a natural gift for teaching and she really enjoys that aspect of her work. So far, she has achieved her school leaving matriculation, but had no opportunity to study further.
With help from Zanini Bantwana, she has started to study for a degree in teaching. She has successfully completed two years of her four year Bachelor in Education degree. She is studying in her own time through UNISA, a South African university allowing distance learning.
This degree will help her in her work in hospital. It will also mean that her work will have much more credibility in the eyes of the authorities.
Provided Sethembile does the necessary work in her own time, Zanini Bantwana has agreed to pay for her fees and 50% of the cost of books etc. Perhaps you could help with this training. The cost is around R10,000/$1,300/£800 per year.
